She was returning from a trip to Europe and Russia when she became ill and was hospitalized at the French Hospital in Istanbul.
She died of Acute Mylitis. Her body had to be returned to Chicago by ship not arriving in New York until December 20th.
Her family had a church service in Winnetka on September 18th and a graveside service later.
