Troy Frances Reed, 66, Rt. 10, Paris, died at 1:50 a.m. Friday, July 21, 1995, at St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 23, at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Reed was born June 25, 1929, in the Givens community of Lamar County, a son of L. E. and Vie Anna Frederick Reed.

He was a gunsmith and operated a marina. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church, the Elks Lodge, a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and the Paris Gun and Skeet Club. He served in the medics in the Army during the Korean conflict, earning the rank of sergeant. He was a lieutenant in the National Guard.

He married Jan Buffington on Sept. 4, 1950, in Waco.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Bruce Reed of Caviness; three daughters, Lisa Ramirez of Mesquite, Patti McConnell and Rosanna Reed, both of Paris; five grandchildren, Jared Reed of Abilene, Kelly McConnell of Paris, Branson Ramirez of Mesquite, Lindsay McConnell of Paris and Kristin Lamb of Paris; and three sisters, Mrs. D.T. Jumper of Waco and Mrs. Edgar Stone and Mrs. Hubert Darnell, both of Paris.

He was preceded in death by a son, Matt Reed, and by a brother, Boyce Reed.

Pallbearers will be Billy Peace, Billy Ed Griffis, Wilbur Newman, Bob Coleman, Bobby Pratt, Teddy Staggs, J. B. Bankhead and Harold Adams.
