Liberal - Ruth M. Herman King, Satanta, died Feb. 28, 2007, at the Satanta Long Term Unit, Satanta, at the age of 77. The daughter of Fredrick C. and Ollie Pearl (Parks) Herman, she was born Aug. 12, 1929 at Luray. She attended grade school in Luray and graduated in 1949 from Waldo H.S., Waldo. On Aug. 28, 1949, she married Glyn I. King near Waldo. She was a homemaker. She had been a resident of Russell, Meade, Elkhart, Protection, Plains, and Liberal and lastly, Satanta. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Plains; the Queens Bowling League and the State and National Bowling Assoc.

Preceding her in death were her husband, a brother, and a sister. Survivors include two sons, Leonard Wayne, and wfie Carol, Boone, NC; and Howard and wife Robin, Gilbert, AZ; a daughter, Evelyn Figger, and husband Robert, Satanta; two sisters: a twin, Ruby Livingston, Winfield; and Mabel Kirby, Salina; two brothers: Emery C., Marysville, CA; and Fred, Salina; 8 grandchildren and 5 gt. grandchildren.

Funeral was held Mar. 6 at the First Baptist Church, Liberal with Rev. Neal Foster officiating. Burial at Liberal Cemetery, Liberal. Memorials to The Cancer Support Group or the church in Plains. Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home, Liberal, in charge.
