A number of friends from Marshall attended the funeral of Sheldon Ransom at the Christian church (sic) in Fairfield Sunday afternoon. Mr. Ransom died in the Mary Lanning hospital (sic) Friday night following an operation. He was about 80 years of age and was a pioneer resident of Clay county (sic). His wife died many years ago. He was a brother of Mrs. J. E. Cook and Mrs. Jake Godtel of Marshall. A sister, Mrs. A. J. Truesdail, died at her home in Imperial Beach, California, about two weeks before Mr. Ransom's death.
