Passed on to Heaven Wednesday evening, January 14, 2015. He was born in Jackson, Michigan on August 31, 1917. He was 97. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rose, after 65 years of marriage. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Blanche, sister, Angela Zarecky and brothers, Joe and Art.

John is survived by his caring sister-in-law, Genevieve Kwiatkowski, nieces and husbands, John and Karen Richter, as well as John and Diane Tyrrell, here in Jackson.

Other nieces and nephews are Dr. Stanley and Randy Mogelnicki, James and Sandy Kwiatkowski, Carol and Ron Stack, Bob and Dona Zarecky, John and Marge Mogelnicki, Shirley and Dr. Anthony Costrini, and Joan Scott. Also many great nieces and nephews, and special friends Don and Helen Ferris.

John was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran. He was a lifelong member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, formerly a member of the P.L.A.V., Polish Falcons and The Knights of Columbus.

He graduated from Jackson High School and retired from Aeroquip. In earlier years, Rose and he traveled a little and loved the casino trips.

Anyone who knew John knows he had a passion for golf. He was an avid golfer in Jackson until the age of 93. He was a gentle, caring friendly man who had many friends.

Thank you to Dr. David Halsey, Dawn and Karen of the office for wonderful care through the years. Thank you to the Arbor Woods Assisted Living Center and to the Allegiance Hospice Home in his final day. Also a special thank you to his neighbor Travis Dorer.

In lieu of flowers, send in his memory donations to St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, 608 South Elm, Jackson, MI or the Allegiance Hospice Home 2150 Kingsbrooke Drive, Jackson, MI.

The Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Stanislaus Church on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 10:30 AM with Father Tim Nelson as the celebrant. Private Interment at St. John's Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 9:30 until 10:30.
