Murphy Jack Turner, age 77 passed away from this life to be with the Lord at 4:15 AM, Tuesday, January 13, 2015. He died peacefully at home surrounded by family.

Jack was born in Oakdale, Louisiana and moved to Sulphur at the age of six where he remained a lifelong resident. He was the founder, owner, and operator of Jack’s Auto Parts and Salvage where he retired the business after 35 years and also Jack’s Wrecker and Towing that his son now owns. Jack was a generous man who loved his work and was always willing to help others.

He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 58 years, Ruth Daly Turner; three children, William Jack Turner and wife, Becky, Nola Kathleen Turner Garcia and husband Jaime and Lawrence Paul Turner and wife Fiona; 4 grandchildren, Hannah Turner, Matthew Turner and wife Rebecca, Ruth Garcia Nagao and husband Dan, Kimberly Garcia Callahan and husband John; and 3 great grandchildren, Daniel Nagao, Creedence Castille and River Turner. His surviving siblings are Charles Turner, Margaret Chain, Linda Wetteman, Patricia Spell and Glenn Turner. He was preceded in death by his father, L.J. “Jack” Turner; his mother, Myrtle Morgan Turner; and 3 brothers, Travis Lee Turner, David Turner and Louis Turner.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 11AM at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel in Sulphur, LA with Brother Lamar Huffman and Martin Magehee officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 5-8 PM at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home and will resume on Friday at 9 AM until time of the service.
