Augusta was Born in Muscatine Iowa to William Haysell Bailey and Mary Stevens. She Married Fredrick Brodine in 1883 in Nebraska. They had four sons named Fred, George Ervine, Albert and Earl.

According to family records. Its said that after Fred died she married a man by the name of Atkinson. He later committed suicide, he was born in Elm Creek Nebraska. Later she married a fellow by the name of Detmore from Phillips Nebraska. She divorced him. Then later married a grocery store man name of Morow. Apparently Morow went broke and left Elm Creek and Gustie as well. In later years she lived with her son Albert in North Platte.

August Brodine said "Gustie" was one of the prettest girls- slim, trim, and bright eyed."
