Gary Mittnacht left this world on Friday, January 16, 2015, just as he came in, at home, surrounded by family.
Gary was born at home on June 5, 1941 in Manitowoc to the late Lester and Sylvia Hacker Mittnacht. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1959. Gary served his apprenticeship at Mirro and became a member of Electrical Union IBEW 158. He worked as a construction electrician until he retired in 2003. On May 21, 1983, Gary married Stephanie Held at Faith Lutheran Church in Valders. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, hunting, snowmobiling, tinkering with his antique tractors, driving truck for the pigeon club, "gardening" with his children, going to his cabin in the north woods, and spending time with his family and friends. Gary was a member of the Manitowoc Fish and Game Association, Viking Bow and Gun Club, Ducks Unlimited, Lakeshore 2 Cylinder Club, and Faith Lutheran Church.
Survivors include Gary's wife of 31 years: Stephanie "Stacy", Valders; daughter: Lisa Muench, Sheboygan; son: John (Theresa) Mittnacht, New Holstein; five grandchildren: Nathan Hoffman, Michael (Ashley) Mittnacht, Alicia (Joe) Pirozzolo, Joshua Cook and his fiancée Allie R. Albert, and Devin Mittnacht; six great grandchildren: Blaik, Dezarie, Myla, Crystal, Jaksin, and Vinny "Vinchenzo"; brother: Gale (Diane) Mittnacht, Manitowoc; also nieces, nephews, other relatives, and too many in-laws and outlaws to mention.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church, 255 Roosevelt Street, Valders. The Revs. Erica Cunningham and Nicole Welke will officiate with burial taking place at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc.
