Rita Loraine Bowen, 89, died on January 14, 2015. A native of Meridian, Mississippi, Loraine received her R.N. from St. Thomas School of Nursing, Nashville, Tennessee. She was a longtime resident of Birmingham and was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" M. Bowen Sr. She is survived by her son and daughter, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Loraine was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. For most of her life Loraine volunteered her nursing skills at homes, schools, church, and St. Vincent's Hospital. Funeral: Elmwood Chapel, January 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
