(1871 - 1956)

Peter Jarstad, 84, died Sunday afternoon following a lingering illness at the Fairhills Convalescent Home, Maribel, where he had resided five years.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Valders Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Rev. A. B. Holland officiating, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr. Jarstad was born in 1872 in the Town of Cato and as a young boy moved with his parents to the Town of Liberty. He worked in lumber camps in the northern section of Wisconsin and was also employed as a farm laborer in this area. He never married.

He is survived by two brothers, Gustav and Ole of Green Bay and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Berge Funeral Home, Valders, after 2 p.m. Tuesday until 10 a.m. Wednesday when the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie in state until the hour of service.
