Graduated St. Joseph high school, Edina, Missouri. Served with the Army Air Corps (a precursor of the U. S. Air Force) during World War II.

Married Dorothy Blickhan, 10 November 1945, in Quincy Illinois.

Worked 34 years for the U. S. Postal Service, retiring in 1977. Member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

Belonged to St. Francis Catholic church. He served as a lector and a Eucharistic Minister.

Member of Knights of Columbus, Council 583.

Fred E. Glisan passed away 5 March 1992 at a hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. One brother and one sister predeceased him.

Funeral was held at St. Francis Catholic church, with interment at Calvary cemetery, in Quincy, Illinois.
