Ila Katherine Akre, , She was born March 22, 1913, in Deer River and moved to Effie in 1914 and to Bovey in 1930. She married Clarence "Tex" Akre in Deer River on Dec. 6, 1932. She was a member of Izaak Walton League, Degree of Honor, and was a gray lady at Leisure Hills Health Care Center for many years with more than 500 hours of service.
She is survived by two sons, Richard, Grand Rapids, and Terry, Concord, Calif.; two daughters, Irene Olson, LaHabra, Calif., and Cynthia Leifermann, Baxter; two sisters, Beulah King, Asheville, N.C., and LaVerne Welte, Grand Rapids; two brothers, Gilbert Randall, San Diego, Calif., and Kenneth Randall, Las Vegas, Nev.; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Gilbert and Anna Randall Wilson, her stepmother, Irene Akre Randall, daughter, Gwen Katherine Akre, five brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral: Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 3 p.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Burial: Itasca-Calvary Cemetery
