Mrs. "Burnell" Beason Acree, 86, of Calhoun died Sunday, November 27, 2005, at 4:55 a.m. at Calhoun Health Care Center, following an extended illness. She was born on October 30, 1919, in Gordon County, daughter of the late Hugh and Odessa Langston Beason. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Acree; a son, David Acree; and an infant son, James Daniel Acree. She was a lifetime resident of Gordon County and was a member of First Baptist Church of Calhoun. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and DiAnn Acree of Calhoun; a daughter-in-law, Peggy Acree of Calhoun; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Phyllis Beason of Calhoun; four grandchildren, Ryan Acree, Penny Acree Nation, Patty Acree, and Sheri Acree Hudgins; three great-grandchildren, Adam and Zach Nation and Grace Hudgins; and other relatives. Funeral was Tuesday, November 29 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home, with Dr. Bert Vaughn and the Rev. Troy Acree officiating. Burial followed in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers included Mike Clements, Gerry Weaver, Nicholas Weaver, John Weaver, Richard Acree, Brent Acree, Johnny Acree, and Doug Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were Calvin Caldwell, Zeb Thompson, Tom Curtis, and Max Curtis.
