PFEIFFLE - Laura Suzanne (Nickell) Pfeiffle, aged 29, of Grand Rapids MI, and formerly of Hanna IN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 10, 2005, after a longstanding battle against injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She fought courageously for over twelve years, in an effort to regain her health and vitality. She was a vibrant and talented student, musician, and athlete, who graduated from Northview High School in 1994. Laura took pride in participating on the school's diving team, cheerleading squad, track team, debate team, and enjoyed playing French horn in Symphonic Band. Academically, she was a member of the National Honor Society and was selected to attend a Summer Institute for gifted and talented students sponsored by the Michigan Board of Education. She recently graduated from Olympia Career Training Institute as a Medical Assistant. She was especially proud of her husband Brett, who recently graduated with honors as a Registered Nurse and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau. Laura was a warm-hearted and thoughtful young woman by nature and touched the hearts of all who came to know her. She will remain in their hearts forever and will be missed by so many who loved her. Surviving are her loving husband, Brett Pfeiffle and her beloved cat, Pugsley; her mother, Marilyn Tyree and stepfather, Steve Tyree; her father, Larry Nickell and Suzie Davis; her sister, TSgt. Sara Spearing and brother-in-law SSgt. Jeremy Spearing; her brother, Connor Scout Nickell; grandparents, Dolores Yergler, Rodger and Eleanor Nickell, and Kathleen Tyree. She also leaves behind numerous aunts and uncles, Dr. Will (Pattie) Yergler, Raymond (Donna) Yergler, Mary Jane Jordan, Kathryn Lyons, Kenneth (Janis) Yergler, Diane (Rick) Couch, Pamela (Dan) Morgan, Jerry (Rhonda) Tyree, and Finley (Terri) Tyree. Laura had a special love for her mother-in-law, Doris Pfeiffle. She also leaves behind her father-in-law, Jerrol Pfeiffle, Jr.; her brothers-in-law, Andrew (Sarah) Pfeiffle, and Alex Pfeiffle. She will be greatly missed by her many cousins and her two nieces, Madelyn Spearing and Kennedy Pfeiffle, who were just beginning to enjoy Laura's warm heart and special love for them. Friends may join Laura's family in a celebration of her life at Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N Monroe St, Rockford MI, beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday with a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy in memory of Laura may wish to make a donation to Hospice of Greater Grand Rapids or the American Red Cross.
