Clifton L. Webster, 80, of 223 S. East St., Toulon, died Friday, March 31, 2000, at his residence.

Born July 25, 1919, in West Jersey to James H. and Jency Ruth Young Webster, he married Barbara Weaver on Aug. 21, 1943, in Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Ann (and George) Guzzardo of Kewanee; one son, Craig (and Alice) of rural Toulon; and two brothers, James (and Dorothy) of Toulon and Roger (and Carolyn) of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by one sister.

He graduated from Bradley University in Peoria with a business degree and was a member of Sigma Phi fraternity.

He farmed in the West Jersey area for many years.

He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the European Theater, where he was awarded four Bronze Stars. He was a member of Toulon American Legion and Toulon Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He served on the West Jersey School Board and was on the board of directors for State Bank of Toulon and Elmira Mutual Insurance.

He was a 50-year member of the Toulon Masonic Lodge 93 AF&AM, of the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria and the Mohammed Temple, Shrine in Peoria.

Burial will be in West Jersey Cemetery.
