Margaret Linehan, age 91, of Sunnyside, Washington passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 in Kennewick, WA.

Margaret was born in Spokane, WA on September 11, 1923 to George and Elizabeth McFadden of Plummer, Idaho. Margaret grew up in Plummer and graduated from high school in 1940. She attended the University of Idaho for two years and then worked as a secretary in Spokane for three years.

Margaret McFadden married William “Bill” Linehan on February 9, 1946 in Moscow, Idaho where Bill was attending college after returning from World War II. In 1949 Bill and Margaret moved to White Swan, Washington where Bill had a teaching position. In 1958 they moved to Sunnyside, WA where Bill also taught and later became the high school principal.

The years Margaret spent in White Swan and Sunnyside were very busy and happy years in her life. Forty years ago Bill and Margaret built a vacation home at Conkling Park on Lake Coeur d’Alene. This house was very dear to her heart and continues to be a special gathering place for her family.

Margaret worked as a secretary for Roger Garrison for many years and later worked at Seattle First National Bank until retiring. Margaret was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside. She belonged to several bridge groups throughout the years and was also a member of the Seattle Children’s Hospital Orthopedic Guild.

Margaret was very involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren and enjoyed following their sporting events and other activities.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her son, Ron, her parents, George and Elizabeth and one brother, Bob. She is survived by six children and their spouses, 19 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, one brother and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass will be held in Plummer, Idaho at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret’s memory may be made to Hospice at the Chaplaincy, 2108 W.
