Joseph Bigelow, son of Joseph Bigelow & Martha his wife, was born 9 November 1726 at Shrewsbury, Massachusetts [Shrewsbury B/R] He had the distinction of being the first person born in that part of Shrewsbury that is now Boylston. The Bigelow house was located at 201 Stiles Road on the southerly side, near the Straw Hollow section. Joseph Bigelow married Olive Beaman and became prominent in Boylston town affairs and held various offices.[Boylston Historic Series]
