Zadie lived with her parents, Altha and Ernest Naftzger, throughout their lives, taking care of their home throughout that time. She was named after her mother and her father's oldest sister.

She had a hearing impairment due to no middle ear. The diagnosis wasn't discovered until in her 40s, when it was opened so she could hear and she received speech therapy and was thrilled with each new step. She spent part of each week in Boise with her sister who took her to her therapy appointments twice a week.

Zadie also had a cleft palate at birth, causing her great difficulty until it was repaired.

Although she had many stuggles she was always cheerful and happy. She never married. Died at 54 years of age from Diabetes related heart problems.

She dearly loved her neices and nephews, especially Louise who she helped raise as a small child. She cosidered Louise her child too!

She loved to talk about current events to those willing to take the time to discuss it as she read the newspaper. It was difficult to understand her speech for those who hadn't been able to spend much time with her. After her surgery and therapy, it was much better.

She also loved to shop and loved anything the color green!
