Asheville - Catharine Evans Campbell, 90, of 26 Mountain Terrace, died Friday, January 11, 2013, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center.

Mrs. Campbell was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Robert J. and Clara Lenora Dalton Evans. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Rymer.

Mrs. Campbell was a former employee of J.C. Penney and she was a member of Pole Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Dan W. Campbell; daughter, Kay Campbell of Asheville; son, Wayne Campbell and wife, Sue, of Candler; grandchildren, Robie Campbell and wife Heather, of Asheville, Jodie Martin and husband, Jeremy, of Modesto, CA, and Travis Campbell and wife, Sarah, of Arden, and six great-grandchildren, Charlize and Hampton Campbell, Ella, Clara, and Nora Martin, and Lydia Campbell.

A funeral service for Mrs. Campbell will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at Pole Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Thurman officiating. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Private interment will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
