Fieldon "Duke" Bennett, 78, of Greenfield died March 24, 2005. Born Oct. 12, 1926, in Morgan County, he was the son of Kenneth R. & Faye G. (Fulford) Bennett.

He had been employed as a numerical control programmer with Naval Avionics in Indianapolis for 37 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Greenfield Friends church, Greenfield American Legion Post 119, Greenfield VFW and Greenfield FOP 140. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his sons, Steven Bennett of Camby and Stanley Bennett of Elizabethtown, PA.; brother Robert Bennett of Greenfield; sisters Marthalou Wooten of Greenfield, Marlene Potts of Shelby County and Juanita Bullard of Jacksonville, NC; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Merl and Ronald Bennett, and sisters, Betty Steward and Naomi Bennett.

Services will be at noon Saturday at Pasco-Stillinger Funeral Home in Greenfield with the Rev. Paul Enyart officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
