COURIER-JOURNAL OBITUARY - 01/23/2015 - Daisy C. Banks, 90, passed away on January 22, 2015. She was born on June 30, 1924. Daisy was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Will Henry Banks. She attended Lincoln Institute. She leaves to cherish her memories five sisters; Ora Mae Harris, Tillie Durham, Doris Lee, Carolyn Hinkle, Fannie Thornton (James). Aunt Daisy also leaves behind four generations of nieces and nephews. Although the oldest she never gave birth to her own children, she was a mother to all. Daisy was a nurturer by heart and each generation spent time in her home. She taught the girls how to Ora Mae Harris fish and sew and the boys how to cook and take care of the home. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive) with burial to follow at Pewee Valley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in the name of Karen Lester.
