COAL FIRM HEAD
Travanion Borda Dallas, president of the American Bricquet Co., anthracite firm, died yesterday in his apartment at the Belgravia, 1811 Chestnut st. He was 68.
A descendant of a family long distinguished in municipal, State and National affairs, Mr. Dallas was the son of the late Judge George Mifflin Dallas, of Federal Circuit Court here, and the grandson of the late Judge Trevanion Barlow Dallas, of Pittsburgh.
His great-grandfather was Alexander James Dallas, Secretary of the Treasury and later Ambassador to England.
Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Dallas was educated at the Episcopal Academy and the University of Pennsylvania, graduating from the latter institution in 1891.
Also a sportsman, Mr. Dallas held the National mixed doubles tennis championship with May Sutton Bundy in the early 1900's.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Pearsall Dallas, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Pearsall; a son, George Mifflin Dallas, of Chestnut Hill, and two daughters, Mrs. Stanley V. Wilcox, of Chester, PA., and Mrs. William Davis Ten Broeck, of Bombay, India."
