It is assumed she died near Scranton, Menifee, Kentucky and subsequently buried unmarked at Staton Cemetery. In the 1910 Census for Beaver, Menifee, Kentucky which was enumerated 25 April 1910 the William Frank Sorrell family shows William a widower with one month old twin children named Kella Sorrell and Stella Sorrell. It is assumed Clara died as a result of the twin’s childbirth. During the Cave Run Lake Reservoir project of 1973 the graves at Staton Cemetery were relocated to Ginter Cemetery. Among these graves are the ones identified as the relocation ID Unknown 3661 thru Unknown 3669 and in close proximity to William Frank Sorrell’s grave which has the ID 3656. It is assumed Clara’s grave is one of the Unknown graves. These graves each have a small flat white marble marker inscribed with “Unknown NNNN” where “NNNN” is the relocation ID. When Ginter Cemetery was last visited in the fall of 1913 it was observed that these markers have disappeared below the grass line. She was also known as Clara Abigail Borders.
Her cause of death was "direct maternal death". She was counted in the census on 16 Jun 1880 in Ridge, Menifee, Kentucky, USA.
