Stacey was the son of Charles and Lucy Nicoll Stacey and born in Gabarus in 1859. Census record of 1901 has this date and the year agrees with 1871, 1881, 1891, 1911 and 1921 census returns as well as his age when he married Harriet Emma Nicoll. No clue who or why 1842 was put on his tombstone. This gent was the brother to my 2x great-grandmother Maria Stacey and was one of 13 known children of Charles and Lucy.

Suggested edit: Unsure why last name should be hyphenated. All sources have last name as Stacey. Charles Moore were his middle names.
