William H. Howell was born November 22, 1855, in Rahway, the son of Adam R. and Sarah Smith Howell. He was the husband of Ella DeMond Howell and the father of Mrs. Sherill B. Richards of Somerville.
Mr. Howell was a former chief of the Somerville Fire Dept. and a member of the Somerville Engine Company. He was a member of Lodge of the Castle, Knights of Pythias, the Independent Order of Foresters and the Second Reformed Church, Somerville.
William H. Dowell died 22 July 1943 in Somerville, NJ at the age of 87. Burial was at the New Cemetery, Somerville.
