William F. "Bill" Morrison, age 86, passed away January 23, 2015 at the Hendrick Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born August 11, 1928 in Hawkins, Texas to the late Frank and Flora Smith Morrison.

He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict as a Master Sgt. Bill graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor's Degree in Geology. He was a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologist for 36 years. Bill was an active member of First Baptist Church of Abilene for over 60 years. He enjoyed greeting the church members at the doors for many years. In addition, Bill served on the West Texas Rehab Board of Directors for over 25 years. Bill was a long time tenant in downtown Abilene, where he counted many people over the years as friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing dominoes and watching football and baseball games. He especially enjoyed following his grandson and the Abilene Eagles football and baseball teams.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Jane; and his parents, Frank and Flora Morrison as well as brothers, James, Frank and Fred Morrison and sister Florene Bartley.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Mari Kay Morrison of Abilene and Paul and Becky Morrison of Midland; and three grandchildren, Rachel Morrison of Austin, Anna Morrison of Houston and William McKendrie Morrison of Abilene.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South with burial following at Elmwood Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be William McKendrie Morrison, Mike Morrison, Marc Morrison, Scotty Bartley, Ron Bartley and Lynn Kelly.
