LaFAYETTE - Mr. Stephen Ramsey Brooks, 59, of LaFayette died Friday, Sept. 18, 2009 at his residence.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 21 at noon CDT at Sardis Baptist Church in Camp Hill with the Rev. Terrance Holloway and the Rev. C. W. Fielder, church pastor, officiating. Burial followed at the Finley Cemetery in LaFayette.
The body lay in state one hour prior to the funeral.
Mr. Brooks is survived by his daughter, Lenita Patrice Brooks of Gadsden, Ala.; one son, Stephen Brooks Jr. of Italy; a beloved friend, Peggy Golette of Camp Hill; a sister, Carrilyn Rose (Nathaniel) Carey of Beckley, West Va.; a brother, Thomas (Dorothy) Peter of Cheshire, Ohio; and godsisters and godbrothers, James Brooks, Christine Linson and Carrie Lee Brooks, all of LaFayette, and Sarah Davidson of Lanett.
Mr. Brooks was born Jan. 14, 1950 in Rupert, W. Va.
