He passed from injuries suffered and related to a car accident 4 years prior to his death on his way home from work at General Motors. He was knocked unconscious during the wreck and has lay in a coma since.
His final residence was the Holiday Home in Clinton, Indiana. He passed there on the 25th of February 1973. At the time of his death he was survived by both parents, his older sister Judy and his paternal grandmother Clara Fort Lyons of Dana.
His service was handled by the Overpeck Funeral Home with Rev Paul Wright officiating.
Burial was in the Franklin Cemeter, near Chrisman, Illinois.
Rex was 23 years old and remains sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
