Leroy Earl Bracher, son of Edwin Edward and Viola Pauline (Rapp) Bracher, was born November 8, 1927 in Prairie City, Missouri. He departed this life on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 in Appleton City, Missouri at 86 years of age.
Leroy and his family moved to the family farm in Rockville, Missouri in 1931. On November 27, 1927 he was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Prairie City, Missouri by Pastor George Jagels and was confirmed on March 29, 1942 by Pastor Jagels. On July 3, 1955 at Zion Lutheran Church, Leroy was united in marriage with Sandra Kay Schellman. He was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church all his life, and helped where he was needed.
Leroy worked for Power Coal Company in Montrose, Missouri for three years and worked part time for Mott Meat Company in Rockville, Missouri for a few years. In 1955, he started farming, both row crops and raising livestock.
Leroy bowled on leagues in Rich Hill and Appleton City for several years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as playing pitch with family and friends on some weekends. In later years, he enjoyed checking on crops and neighbors in his pick-up.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rodney Bracher; sister, Lorraine Ryser; sisters-in-law, Joan Schellman and Fran Schellman; parents-in-law, August and Adelaide (Hirni) Schellman.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Bracher of the home; son, Randall Bracher, Rockville, Missouri; daughters: Michelle Finger (Randi), Evansdale, Iowa and Melanie Martin (Lee Robey), Butler, Missouri; grandson, Kody Wainscott, Butler; Step-grandchildren, Ryan Finger (Jamie), Galloway, Ohio and Brie Weekley (Anthony), Kansas City, Kansas; sister, Phyllis Parks (Bob), Lee’s Summit, Missouri and brother-in-law, Dane Schellman, Rockville.
