Annie Calhoun is shown as a daughter of James I & Nancy C Calhoun in earlier cemetery surveys. The 1900 census shows Nancy to be the mother of 14 children and 9 were living on that date. Nancy's most educated son was Burrell R Calhoun 1858 - 1925. He wrote about his family in 1885 and it was published in the book titled, Biographical Souvenir Of The States Of Georgia And Florida, and published in 1889. Burrell wrote his parents had 14 children and he named all his siblings including spouses for those already married. He did not include Annie Calhoun in his list.

Annie's parentage is unknown but she may be the child of Samuel F. Calhoun, brother of James I Calhoun. The war years 1861 to 1865 were hard for women and children on the home front. Husbands were away in military service and wives and children had to fend for themselves. Nancy may have raised the child.
