Owensville, IN Robert J. Almon, 92, passed away Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015 at his residence.

He was born April 12, 1922 in Gibson County son of Robert E. and Nancy (Jordan) Almon.

He was a graduate of Owensville High School class of 1940.

He served his county in United States Navy during World War II.

He was a longtime farmer of Gibson County and a member of the VFW and the American Legion.

Bob is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marcia (Reed); son, Richard (Sheron); brothers, John (Karen), Jim (Edna) and Jack (Sue); grandchildren, Markie (Regina) Loftin, Jeremy (Miranda) Almon, Justin (Danielle) Curtis, Amy Loftin, Leif (Melissa) and Casey (Katie) Almon; 2 great-grandchildren, Jaycee and Madelyn Almon; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughters, Sherry McGill and Janie Peach; siblings, Evelyn Hurt, June Clark, Dorothy Beloat, Janie Saviers and Joe Almon.

Memorial services will be held on Mon. Feb. 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Holders Funeral Home with Kevin Miley officiating.

Burial will be in the Maumee Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by the retired veterans of Gibson County. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Maumee General Baptist Church.
