Dorothy "Jeanne" Austin, an 82- year resident of Clark County, passed away in her Vancouver, WA home on November 15, 2005. She was 87.

Jeanne was born in Jackson, Wyoming on March 13, 1918 to Roland and Anna Hunter. Jeanne, together with her husband Clifford Austin, raised hay and turkeys in Vancouver.

Following retirement they became "Snowbirds", making many annual flights south to Arizona in their motorhome, then migrating back home in time for spring and April taxes.

A long-time active member of Brush Prairie Baptist Church, she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School as well as being an active member of Golden Heirs. In addition to traveling, she enjoyed macrame, crosswords and reading. Following 52 years of marriage, Clifford passed away in 1995.

Jeanne is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Jody Austin of Vancouver, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Jeanne will be held at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Monday, November 21, 2005. Funeral Services will take place at Brush Prairie Baptist Church, at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 22, 2005, with Graveside Services following at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Jeanne's family requests donations in lieu of flowers be made in her name to Brush Prairie Baptist Church.
