Haysi, VA- Abel Vanity Deel, age 89 of Greenbrier Road, passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 at his home. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late William Burgy and Louisa Deel. He served in the U.S. Army in 1949, was a retired coal miner and member of Russell Prater Old Regular Baptist Church since 1957. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Adam, Kermit and Monroe Deel and sisters, Princie Deel, Buena England and Evie Mitchell.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline, three daughters, Linda (Steve) O’quinn, Wanda (Mike) Deel and Ann (Mike) Scott all of Haysi, a brother, Marcus Deel of Richlands, 6 grandchildren, Patrick, Matthew, Lance, Mickey, Travis and Lori and 11great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Russell Prater Old Regular Baptist Church with Elders Roger Coleman, Andy Deel and Freelin Yates officiating. Burial will follow in Deel Cemetery, Haysi, VA. Pallbearers will be nephews and grandsons.
