DESOTO, Mo. --Ronald P. Chittenden Sr., 60, of DeSoto, Mo., died Monday, June 24, 2002, at Jefferson Barracks, Veterans Administration Medical Center, St. Louis, Mo.

Services will be Saturday at noon at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, with the Rev. Paul Sluss officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster.

Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., DeSoto, Mo.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Jefferson Barracks Hospice, in care of Veterans Administration Medical Center 1, Building 53S1 Jefferson Barracks Drive, St. Louis, Mo. 63125; or the American Cancer Society, 4207 Lindell, St. Louis, Mo. 63108.

He was born Aug. 8, 1941, in Smithville to Lawrence R. and Rachel Anita (Martin) Chittenden and married A. Joan Scott on March 20, 1971 in Wooster. She survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Ronald P. Chittenden Jr. of Mansfield; his mother, Rachel Anita (Martin) Chittenden of Wooster; his stepmother, Lauretta May Chittenden of Wooster; a brother, Robert Ellis (Judy) Chittenden of Shreve; two sisters, Nancy Jean (David) Jentes of Marion, Ind., and Lynn Annette (Richard) Logan of Diamondhead, Miss.; a stepbrother, David (Nancy) Ross of Apple Creek; and two stepsisters, Jan (Kent) Morrison and Pat (James) McGinnis, both of Wooster.
