Don was born July 15, 1927 in New Boston, Ohio to the late Homer Allen and Anna Elizabeth Hopper Allen. He was a Plant Controller at the former Cyclops Corporation in New Boston. Don was a 60 year member of the Wheelersburg United Methodist Church and sang in the choir for 50 of those years; he was a member of the Detroit Steel Management Club; Kiwanis; SOMC Board; President of the Tan-Lan Pool Association; and served in the US Navy during WWII and Korean Wars.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sally Ann Allen; a daughter, Sue Hall; a son, Mike Allen and a brother, Robert H. Allen.
Don is survived by his wife, Pearl Swearingen Allen, whom he married November 1, 1986; a son, Chris (Lisa) Allen of Wheelersburg; also surviving are Michael and Anita Hopper of Minford; Brian and Karen Hopper of Wheelersburg; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-
granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Wheelersburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Perry Prosch officiating, with burial in Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Arrangements are under the direction
