Born Feb. 11, 1934, in Boyce, Va., to Herbert and Willie Belle Pollard Johnson, she married Liehue Rutherford on Sept. 7, 1952, in Peoria.
He survives along with three daughters, Mrs. David (Danice) Lee, Mrs. Teddy (Kathy) Smith and Mrs. Gene (Donna) Brown, all of Peoria; two sons, Herbert C. of Dallas and Michael H. of Beloit, Wis.; and two sisters, Emma N. Lewis of Virginia Beach, Va., and Mrs. Oney (Susie A.) Fitzpatrick of Elyria, Ohio.
Also surviving are six brothers, Charles H. Johnson of Wenonah, N.J., Nimrod P. Johnson of Wilmington, Del., William F. Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz., the Rev. Frank R. Johnson of Woodbridge, Va., George E. Johnson of Virginia Beach, Va., and James P. Johnson of Peoria. Two sons preceded her in death.
She worked as an X-ray transport supervisor at St. Francis Medical Center for 28 years, last working in January 1992. She was a member of the Glorious Church of Jesus Christ, where she was a coordinator of the Usher Board, Sunday School, choir, organists and pianists, and was president of the Pastor's Aide Club.
Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
