BIOGRAPHY

Isaiah was born July 19th, 1927 in Worcester, Worcester, Massachusetts to Isaiah Lounsbury and Marion Montgomery.

He married Mary Ann Pomeroy of New York on January 10th, 1869 in Green County, Wisconsin. Together they had seven children; three girls and four boys. Two, Edwin and Edna, were twins.

The family headed to the Ponca, Dixon, Nebraska area for a time after leaving Wisconsin. They eventually headed out west to Idaho around 1900, settling in the small and dusty town of Minidoka.

Isaiah owned and operated a mercantile store in Minidoka with two of his sons. It was called I. H. Lounsbury & Sons and was located on Broadway Street.

Isaiah was a well-respected member of the community and a very successful businessman.

He passed away October 23rd, 1927 in Minidoka and was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in nearby Albion, Cassia, Idaho. His wife and most of his children are also buried here in a family plot.
