Jeremiah was the son of Robert Patrick 1705 Edinburg, Midlothian, Scotland-1758 Frederick, Frederick Co., MD md 1728 Cumberkand, Alleghany Co., MD Elizabeth Ann 'Betsey' Stevens Patrick 1708 Edinburg, Midlothian, Scotland-1814 Lee Co., VA, they had 9 known children

Jeremiah was born in Conewago Creek, Lancaster Co., PA (near the border of MD)


While serving in the Revolutionary War, Jeremiah was taken prisoner. He was charged with being an enemy to this country and acting under the commission of the King of Great Britian. Witnesses were brought forth and he was found innocent but bound to his good behavior for 12 months and fined a sum of 1000 pounds.


Jeremiah was born in Maryland, moved to Virginia, and then to Floyd County (now Magoffin County), Kentucky. He was a farmer and one of the earliest settlers of Kentucky.


Jeremiah married Sarah "Sallie" Blair in 1761 Harrisburg, Rock Co., VA. Jeremiah and Sallie had children: William, Jeremiah, John Jackson, Brice, Sarah, Elias, Maston, Margaretta, Mary Polly, Gerusia, Rutha, Louisa, Thomas, and Nancy.


There are conflicting accounts as to when Jeremiah Patrick died (1819 or 1822).

Based upon the following research, he most likely died sometime before June 1819.


21 Jun 1819: William Patrick Senr appointed administrator of the estate of Jeremiah Patrick, decd. Securities to his bond were Elijah Pratar, John Gearhart & Robert Harris. William Patrick Sr (1762-1827) was the eldest son of Jeremiah Patrick Sr.


Jeremiah Patrick does not appear as head of a household in Floyd County, KY, in the 1820 Census.


19 Jun 1821: On the application of Salley Patrick, a widow residing in Floyd County, who made satisfactory proof in open Court by the testimony of two credible witnesses that she has not estate in her own right to the value of $100, the same is ordered to be certified to the Auditor of Public Accounts, agreeable to an act entitled "An Act for the Benefit of Poor Widows", approved the 21st December 1820, allowing them 100 acres of land warrant.
