Death of Myron J. Muncy
Myron J. Muncy, aged 73 years, a
life-long resident of Cortland county,
died last Friday at his home at 115
N. Main street, Cortland, following a
long period of ill health. Funeral services,
were held at the home on Monday.

in the Cortland Rural cemetery.
Mr. Muncy was born in the town of
Cuyler on April 26, 1849, the son of
Albert and Prudence Ann Muncy and
was one of a family of five children,
two brothers of whom survive.
The deceased was united in marriage
with Miss Addie Burdick, .the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Burdick
of the town of Cuyler. on February
21, 1872. The ceremony was performed
at the home of the bride's parents
on Burdick Hill, the Rev. Joshua
Clark. pastor of the S. D. B. church
of Cuyler, being the officiating clergyman.
The golden wedding anniversary
of the couple was fittingly observed
with a family dinner and reunion at
their home on February 21st, 1922.
Mr. Muncy was a member of the
Universalist church.
Besides his widow, Mrs. Addie
Muncy, he leaves three children,
Francis Muncy of Syracuse, Mrs. H. L.
Chaplin of Cortland and Miss E. Marguerite
Muncy of Mount Vernon, N.
Y. He also leaves two brothers, William
Muncy, who resides west of Homer,
and L. E. Muncy of Syracuse;
also four grandchildren and two great
granddaughters.
