Lula May Smith was the daughter of Wyett Smith (1870-1904?) and Delpha Jane Goins Smith [Miller] (1870-1948), who were married in Campbell County, TN on 18 Feb 1888.

Lula was married 18 Dec 1910 in Campbell County, TN to James Whit Parrott. His WW I draft registration spells his name as James Whit Parriet, and gives his birth date as 10 Oct 1884, and his occupation as miner, working for La Follette Coal & Iron Co., and residing in La Folette, Campbell County, TN.

Lula and Whit were the parents of sons William Boyd (1914-1992) and Charles (about 1920-?), and the family was listed together on the 1920 and 1930 censuses in Tennessee. The 1940 census lists William Boyd living with his wife and child in Washington, D.C. while Lula is listed both as a married woman from La Follette, TN, hospitalized in Washington, D.C. and as a widow, living in Fincastle, TN with her mother and step-father. Charles and Whit have not been found in 1940 census records.

Lula is listed in a 1954 city directory for Lincoln Park, MI, living at the same address as her son William Boyd Parrott, and she filed for a delayed Tennessee birth certificate in 1956, while living in Taylor Center, MI.
