Brown, Victor H.

Victor H. Brown, age 82, of Manitowoc, died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at his residence.

Victor was born on July 9, 1932 in Manitowoc son of the late Leonard and Amanda (Radloff) Brown. He attended schools in the Manitowoc Area and graduated with the class 1951 from Manitowoc Lincoln High School. Victor served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1952-1954. He worked for Plumb Nelson Wholesale in Manitowoc, the Manitowoc Company, the Manitowoc Health Care Center and the Manitowoc County Court House until his retirement n 1998. On February 23, 1957 He married the former Shirley Kathrine Olkkola in Virginia, MN.

Victor was a member of the Drews-Blesser American Legion Post #88, a past Legion commander, the Legion Honor Guard for many years. Through the years he enjoyed involvement with the Red Cross, the Senior Center, Hope Church, and the Gathering. He bowled on the Legion team for almost 30 years; he loved his daughters and grandchildren dearly and enjoyed visiting them wherever they were. Vic and Shirley enjoyed many car and bus trips, their last being an Alaskan land/cruise. Victor was a hard worker all his life, often at two jobs, renovating one home and building another. His friends and family will miss his unique sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife: Shirley Brown, Manitowoc; Three daughters: Wendy (Jeff) Meier, Huntersville, NC; Shari (Patrick) Crusse, Cornelius, NC; Connie Brown and her fiancé Rick Johnson, Spring Lake Park, MN; four grandchildren: Grace and Jennifer Meier; Ryan and Matthew Crusse, all of NC; two sisters: Arlene Keune, Manitowoc; Dorothy (Kenneth) Kresheck, Hartford, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Harold Brown; one brother-in-law: Kenwood Keune.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday February 2, 2015 at Faith Church, 2201 South 42nd Street, Manitowoc. Pastor Randall Jansen will officiate with burial at the Knollwood Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services at 4:00 p.m. Military honors will be accorded by the Drews-Blesser American Legion Post #88 of Manitowoc.

Memorial donations can be made to the ALS Association Wisconsin Chapter, 3333 North Mayfair Road, Suite #213, Wauwatosa, WI 53222 in Victor's name.
