Samuel Clifton Stroxtile, Jr., 79 of Mitchellsburg died Thursday, January 29, 2015 in Danville. Sam was the husband of Reva Holt Stroxtile. Born April 12, 1935 in Jefferson County, he was a son of the late Samuel C. Stroxtile, Sr. and Vernice Young Stroxtile.Sam was a former employee of ATR, and a retired truck driver for Sharkey Transportation Incorporated out of Illinois. Sam was a Navy veteran serving during the Korean War. While in the Navy, Sam completed the required training for the Navy Seals. He attended the Mitchells burg Church Of God. He loved all animals, he especially enjoyed watching and feeding the birds. Sam loved to go camping and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and their wives, Garry and Lavinia Belcher of McDaniels, Troy and Picky Belcher of Parksville, one brother and his wife, Jim “Strox” and Addie Stroxtile of Lincoln County, and four grandchildren, Stephanie, Jack and Sarah Ogle and Donald Burton. Services for Sam will be Tuesday, 1:00 p.m., February 3, 2015, Mitchellsburg Church of God by Revs. Larry Moore and Donald Irvin, with burial in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Military services will be conducted by American Legion Post # 18. Active pallbearers will be Troy Johnson, Travis Holt, Scott Gordon, Jack Ogle, Ed Eisenbeis and Denny Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be Sammy Warren, Dean Holt, Dewayne Brown, Kevin Wilson and Kacky Tingle.
