Died in Kingston, Ontario. Brought to Quebec to be buried with her husband on the 8thMaria Ann was baptised on the 11th September 1808 at Christ Church, Southwark by her parents William Erasmus Hardy 1778-1838 and Maria Ann Holland 1777-1839.

She married a widower William Henry Alexander at St Andrew's Church Northover in Somerset on the 18th March 1835. Her father W E Hardy govenor of Ilchester Castle was a witness.

Maria and William Henry had three children
Henry 1837-1887; born Ilchester Castle, England ; died Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; worked in the Government of Canada as a clerk to the Privy Council;
Frances Maria 1842-1919; born New York; died Quebec, Canada;
Louisa 1849-1922; born Kingston, Ontario, Canada; died Quebec, Canada

Maria became a widow in 1867 on William Henry's death. She lived in her later years with her daughter Louisa and died in 1884 in Frontenac.
