Mary Sue was born on May 26, 1951, in Johnson County, Indiana, to the late Ancil and Curtis Mae Phelps Dykes. Sue was a former employee of Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital of 39 years, until she had to retire in 2009, due to cancer. She loved being around her grandchildren, and loved crocheting and reading. Mary Sue was a member of New Enterprise Baptist Church
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Jerry Wayne Foster; her daughter, Emily (and Tony) West, of Hartville, MO; her two grandchildren, Jacob West and Jaci West, of Hartville, MO; twelve brothers and sisters, Clara June (and Jim) Rector, of Waynesburg, KY, Gary Dale (and Ann) Dykes, of Nicholasville, KY, Ginger (and Delbert) Greer, of Waynesburg, KY, Beverly (and Jimmy) Hiatt, of Crab Orchard, KY, Ancil Dykes, of Stanford, KY, Kathy (and Charles) Tucker, of Eubank, KY, Mimie Latham, of Waynesburg, KY, Ricky (and Jamie) Dykes, Eubank, KY, Derill (and Gloria) Dykes, of Waynesburg, KY, Paula Denny, of Somerset, KY, Donald (and Beverly) Dykes, of Waynesburg, KY, and Patricia (and Jason) Kilby, also of Waynesburg, KY.
Mary Sue is preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Deborah Rose Dykes.
Visitation for Mary Sue will be on Sunday, February 1, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday, February 2, 2015, at 12 noon, at the funeral home chapel with Bro. Lonnie Sewell and Bro. Tony West officiating. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. in Mill Springs National Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
