Virgil was the son of James Henry Harding. He married Lula Farley in 1872 and to this union 2 daughters were born; Lula and Rosa. In 1884 he removed to Missouri and in 1885 married Aurelia Price, daughter of Judge JW Price. To this union one son was born.
