Parents: Archie and Dot Abernathy
ABERNATHY, Michael Wayne, age 68, of Midlothian, also known as "Big Mike," "Big Daddy" and "Abbey," has left the building February 1, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Dot; his brother, Tommy; and most recent passing, his sister, Linda. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gerri; a grandson, Jaden Beninghove; two daughters, Shannon Abertnathy and Sonja Hodge; his mother-in-law, Marguerite Bendall; and a host of other family members, his Friday breakfast buddies and all his Southside gang. His remains rest at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, and where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday.
