Daughter of Karl I von Braunschweig. She married Prince Friedrich Wilhelm von Preußen in 1765. The prince already had a mistress in Wilhemine Enke at the time and had not much interest in his wife. She allowed herself the freedom of having lovers too. After four years of marriage and the birth of a daughter, they were divorced. She was given a small pension and was sent to Stettin. Friedrich Wilhelm remarried in July 1769, but retained his mistress. During his second marriage he married twice morganatically, while still being close to Wilhelmine.
She was first buried in a Mausoleum in the park of her house and moved to the castle church in Stettin in 1849. This church was destroyed during WWII and she was moved to Cracow.
