Charlotte Allston's mother was Ellen Stanley Robinson (1841-75), daughter of Dr. Joseph and Mary DuVal Robinson (1817-1911), who was born in Tallahassee, Fla. She last lived in Austin, Tx. She married in 1864, Colonel Benjamin Allston (1833-1900)(West Point 1853), eldest son of Governor Robert Francis Withers (1801-64)(West Point 1821) and Adele Petigru Allston (1810-96), of South Carolina. He served in the Civil War in the 15th Virginia Cavalry and Provisional Army (CSA) and was assistant inspector general on the staff of Gen. Kirby Smith. He was later ordained an Episcopal minister and was rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, Winnsboro, S.C. Their five children were Mary Duval (1866-77), Adele, Louisa D., Charlotte (1872-1935), and Robert Francis Withers Allston II (1873-1908).
Robert Francis Withers Allston II (1873-1908) lived in Tryon, N.C. He married Mary Elise Beatrice Holmes (1869-1942), and their children were William Francis (1898-1989), Ellen B. (1901-88), and Georgina Allston (1907-98) who married and lived in Ireland. William Francis Allston (1898-1989) at one time was an engineer for a tropical radio station? in Miami. He married Mary Elizabeth Verner (1901-80), and two children were Laura B. (b.c1935) and Robert F. Allston (b.c1937). Ellen B. Allston (1901-88) married John Dillon Eversman (1904-87), a music instructor. They lived in Hendersonville, N.C. Three children were twins John Dillon, Jr. (1927-2013), and Robert A. (1927-2007) who served in the Navy and married Judith Walczak (b.1951), and their son is Robert Eversman; and Nancy Anne Simcox Eversman (1934-67). John Dillon Eversman, Jr. (1927-2013)(UNC c1951) served in WWII and lived in Union, S.C. He married Judith Thomas (1935-2016), and two children were John Dillon, III (1962-91) who had a son John Dillon Eversman, IV, of Atlanta; and Lynn E. Eversman, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., who married Stephen Zeringue and whose sons are John Joseph and Andrew Stephen Zeringue.
