Howard (Gene) E. Sprague, 83, of Greensboro, NC. passed away February 2, 2015 after a short illness.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00pm this Friday, February 6, at Forbis and Dick Funeral Home on West Friendly Avenue in Guilford College. Funeral Services will be held at the same location on Saturday, February 7, at 11:00am.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy, three sons and two daughter in-laws, Bruce and Lynn of Oak Ridge, NC, Chuck and Mary of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Joey of Greensboro. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Bobby Sprague of Ft. Lauderdale; FL, Mrs. Chae Evans of Atlanta, GA; Brian Sprague of Oak Ridge, NC; Ms. Asheton Sprague of Greenville, NC; and Ms. Katherine Sprague of Oak Ridge, NC.
Gene retired from Lucent Technologies and Wachovia Bank and Trust in Winston-Salem after a very successful career in Tele-Communications at both companies.
He enjoyed working on electronic and mechanical devices and was always available to help anyone with anything that needed repair. He was an accomplished carpenter and brick mason having built several structures and additions to his and his friends' homes over the years. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
