He married Ramona Jean Cobble in Riverbank, California on September 5, 1957. They had four children. He was a current resident of Mojave, California for 51 Years. Robert started working at California Cement Company September of 1957 and worked there for many years, with perfect attendance. He loved telling stories of his youth and about how many hamburgers and RC's "pops" he could consume, he would take cayenne pepper to restaurants because he liked his food spicy, he enjoyed reading comic book and detective magazines, picking his Lotto numbers at the Mobile, collecting coins, and he was always there for his grandchildren when they were in need.
Robert's wife Jean passed away 8 months before he did. They will forever be remembered by their children, Phyllis Crowell (DeeRoy), Melody Samarin (Bob), Joandra Carreño (Gus) and Robert M. Burgess. He is also survived by his Grandchildren, Kristina Hughey (Mike), Todd Crowell, Jason Samarin (Melissa), Stephanie Samarin, Tara Flores (Armando), Gus Carreño IV (Leah), Joshua, Anthony and LeeEllen Burgess and 9 Great Grandchildren: Stevie, Alex, Garrett, Tre, Dayton, Angelease, Andrea, Gus V. and Ethan. Predeceased in death by his parents, sister and Granddaughter, Nicole Carreño.
